Eco-solvent technology is newer than plain solvent technology. The biggest advantages are reduced smell and less volatile chemicals. Otherwise, they use the same concept of colours suspended in a liquid solvent that is sprayed onto substrates through the all-important printhead. The solvent chemically integrates into the substrate surface. Through a process of drying and outgassing, the solvent evaporates, leaving the colour permanently bonded in the substrate. This printing process produces the brightest, most vivid colours currently available in the sign industry. Unlike other processes, the printed surface is flexible, making it suitable for printed vehicle wraps, roll up banner film, and other applications with curves.
