UV-curable inks have a few advantages over solvent-based inks. Ultraviolet light cures the ink instantly instead of over the course of 24 hours. The process doesn't create or require heat, so a wide range of heat-sensitive materials are compatible with UV printing. Although capable of roll-to-roll printing, UV inks are especially popular for flatbed direct-to-substrate printing including sheets of PVC, ACM, and corrugated plastic.
