Did you know? Fluorescent colours use a special fluorescing (<- scientific term right there) pigment. These pigments grab light of shorter wavelengths (towards the purple end of the spectrum) and convert it into longer wavelengths (towards the red end of the spectrum). A normal yellow pigment will reflect yellow light. A yellow fluorescent pigment will still reflect yellow light. But it will also grab some green light, convert it into yellow, and reflect that yellow light as well. It's a double whammy. That is why fluorescent pigments look "brighter" than other colours. More light is reaching the eye than the brain expects.

For this reason, fluorescent colours are impossible to digitally print unless you have fluorescent ink.
