Frog Juice 7000 Sunscreen Clear - Alive and Well
For the last year or two, rumours have floated around that Frog Juice 7000 Sunscreen Clear has been discontinued. This liquid laminate was the first generation of UV protective coatings. Capable of aerosol, brush, roller, and spray gun application, its quality and versatility made it a popular choice. Are the rumours true? Has Super Frog ended up like the dodo bird and the passenger pigeon - extinct?
No. The rumours are not true. As Mark Twain famously wrote, "The report of my death has been greatly exaggerated." Nothing can be confirmed, but it's possible a competitor started the rumour to gain market share. However, the Frog Juice company has changed ownership. Ronan Paints purchased it and currently manufactures it. It is still available in aerosol, quart, and gallon formats, just as versatile as ever.
As quoted straight from Ronan Paints' web page:
Frog Juice 7000 Sunscreen Clear is a versatile liquid lamination coating that provides excellent UV protection and edge-sealing properties and is suitable for use over a wide variety of surfaces including gold leaf, vinyl, enamel receptive banners, water-based paints, latex and solvent paints, digital prints and more. Frog Juice dries very hard over time yet remains flexible. It will not yellow. Requires no hardener or catalyst. Achieves maximum hardness slowly over 30 days, yet is ready to handle and place outdoors in 30 minutes. - https://www.ronanpaints.com/frog-juice
