Steinel Mobile Heat 5 is a new cordless, battery-operated heat gun. It's greatest advantage is mobility. It's at its best when installing or removing vinyl graphics away from the shop. Unlike a torch, there's no open flame, plus temperature and airflow are controlled precisely.
Steinel MH 5 comes with an 18 V 8 Ah rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a charger, and a carry case. It's ready to go in 4 seconds and reaches peak temperature in less than 30 seconds. At the highest heat setting, a fully charged battery produces 15 minutes of heat. A plus-minus toggle controls the temperature. The temp setting is displayed on an LCD screen. Temperature ranges from 120 - 930°F (50 - 500°C) in steps of 10°F. Heat is produced by a sturdy ceramic element. Airflow is digitally controlled, ranging from 5.3 cfm to 10.5 cfm.
The MH 5 has a few other convenient features. It has 4 memory settings which can be changed at any time. Rubber bumpers let the heat gun stand on its own. It's compatible with all standard push on nozzles and heat guards. The base features a small LED for illuminating the workspace as well as indicating that the tool is on.
A heat gun is invaluable for vinyl graphics and wraps. During installation, heat increases stretchability and conformability. This is particularly useful for car wraps and rows of rivets. Heat can also trigger material memory, returning over-stretched wrap vinyl close to its original form. During removal, heat softens vinyl, making it easier to peel off.
Steinel heat guns are used by professionals everywhere. A few features stand out. Thermal cutout prevents overheating and damage. The battery is compatible with all CAS tools. Optimized weight balance reduces hand fatigue. These German-engineered tools have characteristic precision, quality, and durability.
MH 5 comes with a one year limited warranty.
